Hello! I am looking forward to coaching the Goochland Manta Rays for another great summer season! I have been coaching the Manta Rays since 2011 and have loved being part of the team’s growth and success over the years. I have also been coaching the Goochland High School Swim Team since 2021.
When I am not coaching, I enjoy learning about history and watching sports. I also love spending time around the pool and helping swimmers build confidence, improve their technique, and have fun competing as a team. My favorite strokes are breaststroke and butterfly. I’m excited for another fantastic summer with the Manta Rays!
My name is Charlie Bradbury, and I’m a dedicated swimmer, coach, and student-athlete with a strong passion for both athletics and personal growth. I began competitive swimming three years ago through the YMCA swim team, where I first discovered my love for the sport. With the support of the YMCA and consistent hard work, I improved quickly and developed both confidence and discipline in the pool. I currently train at SwimRVA’s USA Swimming team, and am committed to swimming at Bridgewater College to swim.
I started my swim journey at the Goochland Manta Rays in the Fall 2021. I swam for the Manta Rays for 3 years and moved to the SwimRVA Rapids in January 2024. In my first year with the Rapids, I was on the Age Group Championship Team and the Eastern Zones Championship Team, and I was selected as a Virginia All-Star. I am currently on the Rapids Senior Championship Team and the Sectionals Championship Team with a goal of joining the NCSA National Championship Team this year. I have been coaching for the Manta Rays since Fall 2025, and I love being able to share my swim knowledge with younger swimmers.
My name is Connor Davis. I have been working as a swim coach at the YMCA for 2 years. I have been swimming since I was in second grade. I am super excited to be back coaching this summer!!
My name is Ryan Johnson and I have been a swim coach at the Goochland YMCA for two years. Despite seemingly short service as a coach I have been a member of this team for 13 years and its been the best 13 years of my life. This team is a place where lifelong friends are made and all swimmers of all levels are welcomed to flourish. This team has taught me how to be both a great leader and listener and I have met some of my favorite people here. I strongly encourage you to take part in our team and hopefully find a new family outside of your comfort zone.
